2021 Book #2: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

The Midnight Library

This was the second book of the 24+ books I plan to read this year. It was a fun read, and I actually powered through more than 80% out of it in a single Sunday afternoon. Some might say the Nora's situation is a bit overplayed, and maybe pedantic, but to me it was a breath of fresh air from the dry technical documentation I read on a daily basis. It's something you might give to a precocious child (or adult!) with the intention of stimulating the imagination, and indeed Nora starts off that way (for good reason!).

Nora's trials, joys, and easy and sometimes not-so-easy existence shines as a ray of hope in times where we have so little. It serves as a reminder of the choices we have before us, of compounding, and how we all can stand to make a difference.

I'm open to a limited number of consultancy projects; if you think I can help you out, let's chat! When I'm free, I write about engineering, technology, HCI and the future of computing. If you like what I have to say, feel free to buy me a coffee and/or subscribe below for updates.
